SoloStarterHQ

Privacy policy

Version 2.0, 12 October 2026. What changed: terms, privacy and the affiliate disclosure now have separate pages, with more detail on your rights and on how commission works.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller for this website is Pras Rao, trading as SoloStarterHQ (sole trader), 80A Ruskin Ave, Welling, London DA16 3QQ, United Kingdom. Email: raoprasji@gmail.com. We are a small sole trader and have not appointed a data protection officer; please send all privacy questions to this email address.

2. The short version

This site has no cookies, no contact forms, no accounts, no advertising trackers and no social media plug-ins. Its fonts are stored on the site itself. We never sell personal data or use it to build advertising profiles.

Three things do involve personal data, and each is explained below: our hosting provider's server logs, our cookie-free visit statistics, and the commission records we receive from systeme.io.

3. Hosting and server logs

What: when you visit, our hosting provider, GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA), logs your IP address and technical details of each request, such as the page, date and time, and browser type.

Why and legal basis: to deliver the pages and protect them against attacks. This is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR and EU GDPR; Article 7(IX) LGPD).

How long: GitHub keeps these logs for security purposes for the period set in its own privacy statement. We do not have access to them.

4. Visit statistics

What: we use Umami Cloud (Umami Software, Inc.) to count page visits and clicks on the sign-up buttons, for example how many people clicked a button on the Spanish page. Umami does not use cookies, does not store identifiers on your device and does not follow you across other websites. To count a visit, your browser sends Umami your IP address and browser details, which Umami says it anonymises. We only see anonymous totals.

Why and legal basis: to understand which pages and languages help visitors. This is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR and EU GDPR; Article 7(IX) LGPD).

How long: the statistics are anonymous and kept while we run the site. Umami stores them in its EU region; some of its service providers are in the USA.

Your choice: if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, no statistics are recorded.

5. Affiliate links and commission records

What: our sign-up buttons send you to systeme.io with our affiliate code in the link, so that systeme.io can credit us. From then on, systeme.io (ITACWT Limited, Ireland) is the controller of the data you give it, under its own privacy policy. To pay commission, systeme.io may show us limited details of accounts created through our link, such as the sign-up date and plan.

Why and legal basis: to check that commissions are correct (our legitimate interest) and to keep accounts for tax (a legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c) UK GDPR and EU GDPR; Article 7(II) LGPD).

How long: up to 6 years after the end of the tax year concerned. We never use these details to contact or market to anyone.

6. Emails you send us

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you. We delete the correspondence after 2 years unless we need it for a legal claim.

7. Who receives data

Only the service providers named above: GitHub (hosting), Umami (statistics) and systeme.io (affiliate tracking, as a separate controller). We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

8. International transfers

GitHub is in the USA and is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension. Umami stores statistics in the EU and uses some service providers in the USA under its data processing terms. These safeguards protect data transferred outside the UK, the European Economic Area and Brazil.

9. Your rights

You can ask us for confirmation of whether we hold your personal data, a copy of it, correction, deletion, restriction of its use, or a portable copy. Under the LGPD you can also ask for information about who we share it with and for anonymisation.

Right to object: you can object at any time to any use of your data based on our legitimate interests. We will then stop, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or need the data for a legal claim.

To use any of these rights, email raoprasji@gmail.com. We will reply within one month (within 15 days for LGPD requests). It is free of charge.

You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), in the EU the authority where you live, and in Brazil the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (gov.br/anpd).

10. Other points

Cookies: this site sets none, so it has no cookie banner. Automated decisions: we do not make any decisions about you by automated means. Sensitive data: we do not collect any. Children: this site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

Security: every page is served only over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if what we do with data changes. The version number and date at the top show the current version, with a short summary of what changed.
